Wow...it's already been a week since Halloween! Where in the world is time going? For me, I think it's going SUPER fast because there are only about 8 1/2 weeks until baby Baker #3's due date! AAHH!
Last Monday was Halloween. Zane had his party at school and said he had a lot of fun there. After we all got home, we put the boys' costumes on and went to have supper before heading out for the goods. We decided to just walk around the neighborhood and that would be enough...and it sure was! It was a super nice evening...in the mid-60's...so the boys didn't even need to bundle up! We did the loop around the neighborhood, and that was enough to fill both of their buckets! They had fun, and we enjoyed watching them...Zane going first and Mason just a pace or two behind him! A couple of times the people answering the door said, "Did we do something wrong? Why are the police here?" They weren't even paying attention...just wanted candy...but I thought it was cute!

This weekend we stayed home. We have lots of things on our "to do" list and need to get some of them crossed off! One of the things we'd been wanting to do was get to the zoo. The Kansas City zoo always allows KC residents to go to the zoo for free during the months of October and November (a perk of paying taxes...). Matt's parents came down Saturday morning to go with us. It was nice to have them here! We got there around 11:00 and stayed until after closing time. Papa and I held up the back of the line...after we left I sure was tired and sore!

| We loved watching the tigers! |
The zoo closed at 4:00, but as long as you're in there they don't worry about shooing you out. One thing we hadn't yet gotten to was the kangaroos. We headed toward them, and we saw some people coming out of there who told us they were putting the kangaroos away (the kangaroos are just in a grassy area...not caged off). We were sad, but thought since we were already almost there we'd just go watch them. As we were walking through, we saw that they were trying to get a couple of them to a different area and those two weren't cooperating...we walked by the gate and saw these guys...

We kept going and watched the zoo workers trying to get the others where those two were...and all of a sudden the two they were working with started coming towards us! One of the workers hollared at us and asked us to put our arms straight out. I wish I would have gotten a picture of that...I'm sure we were quite the sight all standing there with our arms spread wide open! It worked...they turned and headed back the other way!
 |
| Intrigued... |
 |
| Mason walked right up to this bear and held his hand, saying "Mom, take my picture..." |
 |
| Trying to get these two to smile...grandma's behind me and we're saying "look at the kangaroo behind mom." Grandma's jumping up and down and as you can see the boys think it's hilarious! |

| Heading back to the van after a fun time at the zoo! |
 |
| Matt's being attacked! |
 |
| Zane to the rescue! He was hitting and kicking the polar bear! |
 |
| Goofy boys crawling around like animals... |
Zane-isms
- "Mom, when our baby poops, his face will get red. It's because there's not a lot of room in his diaper so he has to push real hard."
- Zane is always talking about how if he gets sick and has to stay home that will be fun, becuase he will get to watch t.v. all day. Last week Mason was sick on Thursday and I stayed home with him. When Zane found out he was staying home, he said, "If Mason watches t.v., he wont' get better." Funny how the tides changed...
Mason's Marvels
- The other day Mason was looking for his blankie, and once he finally found it, he hugged it and said, "Silly goose!" to the blankie!
- Zane has homework each week and one night when Mason didn't want Zane to get to do something, he kept saying over and over, "Zane needs to do his worksheet!"
