Scout Camp, Baseball, and the Dentist!

Last week Zane attended Scout Day Camp.  It was the first year we were able to send him.  He had a lot of fun!  Since we had just been on vacation, we were not able to go with him.  I was very nervous to send him alone, but it worked out that one of his buddy's dad was there.  He sent me pictures and brought him home each day.  He had a great week!

This summer has not been very conducive to having baseball practice or games!  Man, the rain can stop anytime now!  It worked in our favor when in Mexico the game was cancelled and Mason didn't have to miss his first game.  This week was the first game.  It is so fun to watch him!  He looks like a little man out there!  It's strange now to have family in town that can come and support him at the games!  Adam and Bethany were able to make it to the games this week!

He played Left-Center first...getting stretched and ready!

One of the coaches was shooting the breeze with him!

Jhett and Bryce are good buddies!  Here they are playing with dinosaurs

Wednesday was dentist day for Mason, Bryce, and I.  This was Bryce's first ever dentist visit!  Not only did I have my cleaning, but I had to get my permanent crown (3rd one this spring/summer) which meant a longer stay there and that they boys had to be good for quite awhile!  I was nervous, but came equipped with tablets and they did AWESOME!

Big boy!

Getting prepared

Laying back in the chair, he thought this was so funny!

What a cutie!

He listened really well!  He was a great patient!

Getting clean!

Getting his teeth counted - he had all 20!

Last week Zane and Mason were playing catch and Mason came running in saying "Zane threw the ball at my face!"  (Um, no, you missed catching it).  Regardless, his front tooth was loose after that.  The dentist noticed and pulled it for him!

We were excited to have the Royals and Cardinals playing each other this weekend!  Friday night we watched it in the basement together!  Matt got us some Royals and Cardinals peanuts at HyVee for the big game!

They are supposed to be holding the peanut bags up and putting their fists up toward each other.  Bryce didn't really get it!

Showing off his missing tooth!

Goofy kid!
Mason going down the slide at the pool.  He's finally tall enough!

Bryce really loves swimming this year!  We ended up with the life jacket because he almost went under...he got a little brave.  But he was counting to 10 and then jumping in.  I tried to get him to do it for me to record but he would only count to 3.  This was take 3!

Sunday Aaron and Michele tried going to the Royals/Cardinals game.  Unfortunately there was a rain delay and then the game was delayed overall.  They had Thomas with them so that was not fun I'm sure, but lucky for them he's a good and happy baby!  They sent me this photo!!!

He's getting so big!

A Wedding, A Week on the Farm, and Mexico!

What a week we've had!  Let's start with last weekend.  On Friday Matt's parents came down to pick the boys up for their 9 day stay on the farm!  Later that afternoon I rode with Adam and Bethany to Omaha.  Matt joined us later.  We were there to celebrate the marriage of our cousin Lisa to Adam Hansen!  It was a fabulous weekend!

My cousin Brian and I!

It was so good to see all of our family!  We also met my cousin Jess' soon-to-be in laws and I cannot WAIT to see them again at her wedding!

Mr. and Mrs. Hansen!!!
Sunday after the gift-opening brunch, we headed back to Kansas City to prepare for our trip to Mexico!  We were very excited to return to the same resort as our first visit!!!

Night 1 was Mexican buffet night!  My favorite!  Hola!!!
Matt was a big talker that he knew all the words to La Bamba, so when the lead singer was going around the crowd, I waved him over and Matt got to show his stuff!  Ha!

This was a dessert.  It was a chunk of pumpkin.  And it was delicious!  It tasted like apple pie!

We consumed a lot of these...

Cannolis!  YUMMY!

Matt's mousse dessert

At our favorite...the sports bar.
This tractor was on the beach!  Because of the storms and rain there was lots of seaweed on the beach so this tractor was trying to get it off of the beach!

Swinging and eating ice cream!

These poor guys...trying to get all of the seaweed cleaned up!

All of those bags of seaweed!

EWWW!

This was our view every morning at breakfast!

(Don't mind the guy's boxers showing).  I took this mainly because this guy was on the beach selling hats, and his hat was a Royals hat!  When I mentioned it, he said "Yay Royals.  Best team!"

One day at lunch buffet Matt told me to go get some of the pork because it was good.  When I opened the lid, here's what I saw.  Look close, toward the back.  EWWW!

This little "raccoon" (as the waiters told us) hung out outside the restaurant each day.  The waiter here was getting him to stand up on his hind legs.  He didn't bother, he just lingered...

Strange!

One day these little "cookies" were in our room!
Another night at the end of the bar...

Our very favorite bartender/waiter - Eduardo

Our second favorite - Guillermo

Beauty

Ahhh!

On the last morning we got up early to see the sunrise.  It was too cloudy, but I still enjoyed the quiet, gorgeous beach early in the morning!

It's turtle season there now.

This area is fenced off to protect the turtles.

This crab was under one of the beach chairs early in the morning!
While we were in Mexico, the boys were enjoying a week on the farm!  They did so much...went to the zoo, played outside, went to the Science Center, visited Aunt Marcy and Uncle Nate, got spoiled!  Let's just say they weren't completely excited to see us return....they knew it meant having to leave Grandma and Papa's house!

Checking things out

Nice, Zane!

Bryce doesn't go too far from Old Papa when he's around!

Zane found a coke with "Matthew" so got it because of his dad!
Tilling!
We are so thankful for Matt's parents and owe them so much!  They will do anything for our kids.  They drove all the way down here on Friday to get them, kept them through today, allowed them to eat them out of house and home, took them fun places, they are just the best!  We never worry one minute when they are there, and the fact that the boys are sad/mad when they have to come home proves they have so much fun and are so loved while there!  Mason just "wants to go to Grandma's on his own" and is counting down until the next time he goes!  Such great memories they will always have of their times there!  Thank you, thank you, for all you always do for us!
