World Series!

It has been so much fun to be a Royals fan this year!  I never dreamed we'd be watching them in the World Series, and even more surprising is that I have now gone to TWO world series games!  Game 1 didn't end as we expected...with the Giants winning...but the great news was we got to say hi to Matt's cousin Ty and his wife!

We are here!!!
A family divided!  Matt, Mindy, Me, Ty

Here we go!

Game 1!
Documenting our attendance!
Greeting us on our way out...haha!
Game two was much better for Royals fans!!!  Matt says it was because he wore the correct shirt and sweatshirt...superstitious???

Let's go Royals!

Our seats were right behind right field!  GREAT view!
The W guy!  At the end of every home win, he carries a huge W out!  A hometown celebrity!

So ready for this!

I loved this sign, right behind us!

Oh Hunter Pence!  There were so many signs about him around us.  Many people yelling at him.  My favorite sign I've heard that someone had said "Hunter Pence makes rainbow loom bracelets for his teammates."  Poor guy, they don't leave him alone!

Lorenzo Cain!
LOVE being here!

Royals WIN!!!!!

Craziness on the field afterwards

That's right!

Afterward we hung out awhile and then finally left, we ran into Sungwoo Lee!  He's from Korea and they refer to him as "Super Fan."  When he was here in the summer, we were playing the Giants, and we swept them!  They were able to get him here for the World Series games.  He was kind enough to stop for a photo...too bad we were again star struck and it was blurry, oh well!  And don't worry about Sungwoo...he is sitting in the George Brett suite!

Local newscasters everywhere on our way to our car!
No secret who we are rooting for...just see our front yard!  (Can you believe Matt did this to his own yard!?!)

Wow, we were tired this week after two games in a row!  Special thanks to Keeta for coming down and spending two nights so we could go.  We will never ever be able to repay Craig and Keeta for all of the miles they've driven to help us out!  I hope you both know how much we appreciate the fact that we can call you anytime, for anything, and you'll do anything you can to help us out!

Thursday night Mason's school had a Trunk or Treat.  We are planning to be in Iowa the weekend of Halloween, so thought this might be their "trick or treating" for this year.  Zane isn't really into it this year and doesn't seem to care to dress up at all.  He decided on being a Boy Scout (since he had a meeting afterwards it was easy to choose).  Mason got a Hulk costume for this year, but when it came time, he just wanted to be Spiderman.  Bryce was the most excited.  He chose to be a fireman and he just kept wanting to put it on, etc, etc.  So cute!

Trunk or treat!

They were all a little shy...but I told them I would NOT do it for them!

Bryce thought his ax was a weapon, like nunchucks or something, it was hilarious!

Friday was our Halloween party at school.  My grade level was the Ninja turtles!
For game 4, we decided to have friends over and watched the game outside.  I bought a projector over the summer and we had never used it.  It worked, but it wasn't amazingly clear, so I think most of us watched it on the tv that we were projecting it from!  Either way, we had a great time, despite the Royals losing!

Watch party in our driveway!

Fun times!
Cheer loud, and proud, for our Royals!  Them losing last night ensured we get to go to Kauffman at least one more time.  I'm really hoping they win tonight and game 6 will be us witnessing them winning the World Series!

What...a...week!

I did two different posts today...so if you are just visiting and this one is what you see...you may want to go back and read the previous one as well.

I had forgotten that the stadium photographers had taken photos of us at the wild card game.  Aren't we cute!?!

Let's go Royals!!!

This week began with a teacher work day on Monday.  I was there an hour and a half and then got a call from Jo about a rash all over Bryce.  I picked him up and took him to the doctor.  We found out he has hand, mouth, foot, which is a virus.  Lucky for us he has a very mild case of it and is not in pain like some kids/people are.  He just has some pimply looking spots on his arms and legs mostly.  I went ahead and stayed home with him Tuesday, and Matt stayed with him Wednesday.  He is not contagious with just the rash, but if he has a fever he is, so we wanted to watch him.

Hangin at Jo's house
We had been wavering back and forth about going to another postseason game, but didn't have a sitter, so decided to stay home and watch.  However...due to the rain, Matt's dad called and said he could come down since he couldn't be in the field...so we went to Tuesday's game.  It was amazing!  It has been so much fun watching the Royals in the postseason!

Here we go again!

This flag was enormous!

Play ball!
Another W!!!
After the game we were walking out to our car and saw these guys ready to do their postgame show.  It was so cool to be there!!!  Another t.v. news station was about ready to go live, and I actually got in on their broadcast!  I was standing in the back waving my rally towel at the camera.  Afterwards I looked down to see that I had my flag upside down...duh!

I'm star struck!
After the game that night I got a message from a past parent.  I had both of her kids in my class.  Her husband's company prints shirts and she wanted to give Matt and I shirts!  So sweet!  So Wednesday she delivered them and I had to take a picture and post it on Facebook so she could see it!  I believe!

So sweet of her to think of us!
We were really bummed that we would not get to see any more games because of the cost of tickets.  The Royals have a "lottery" to get tickets for the World Series.  You can sign up with your email for a chance.  We signed up all 3 of our emails...to no avail...we got 3 responses telling us we were not chosen.  However, on Thursday, Matt got an email saying he got a second chance!  We were so excited!  Friday morning he received an email with a code.  At 10:00 he logged onto the Royals site and was able to get 2 tickets to all 4 of the home World Series games!  We were so so excited!  We decided that we would probably go to most of them, and if we can't, just sell them to someone else.  I cannot even believe that the Royals made it to the World Series, let alone that I will get to see the games!

Saturday the weather was gorgeous!  We decided it was a great day for the pumpkin patch.  This year we tried a new one.  It just opened this year.  It had some of the same things, some different, and was a lot of fun!

This was so cool!  It was like a big bubble coming out of the ground!  They loved it!

What a crazy week...but we are actually in for an even crazier one this week!  It was such fun spending the weekend with our boys!  I sure do love fall!  Can't wait to cheer the Royals on to a World Series championship!  Let's go Royals!
