Pictures from Jo's and Cub Scouts

This week was our first full week of school...and we survived!  We were so busy I sort of forgot to take pictures...whoops!  Thank goodness for Jo!  I realized I hadn't uploaded some of the pictures from the past couple of weeks...so here goes!

Ready to go for a ride!

Room for one more?

Coloring!  Seriously buddy, get those fingers out of your mouth!

Apparently Bryce needs more coloring experience...he ate half of this crayon...

He does this at home too...loads all of his toys into one bigger one, then pushes it everywhere!

Drink break!

Don't you wish you knew what they were thinking?

Boy Scouts started this week...there were three days in a row of meetings and events!  Friday night was the pack meeting and there was a fire truck there.  They sprayed the kids and they all had a blast!

Fire!  Ha!

Zane is somewhere in there!
Saturday Matt and Zane went with the Boy Scouts to a marble factory.  They really enjoyed themselves there!  In the afternoon, Matt's parents, Marcy and Nate came down and we spent the afternoon at Smithville Lake in the boat.  It was a great day to be on the lake!  The rest of the weekend was full of catching up from being gone last weekend and preparing for another week.  Mason finally starts preschool this week.  It's so hard to believe he's in Pre-K and will only have this year before he will be in kindergarten!

Royals, School, and the Iowa State Fair

Last Saturday we decided to head out to a Royals game.  Little did we know everyone else in KC decided to do the same thing!  All seats were sold out, so we had to get standing room only tickets.  We later found out there were 11,000 people with standing room only tickets...geesh!  The game didn't go so well for us...the older two whined the whole time because they had to stand...and couldn't see...etc...etc...at one point we found some empty seats and sat in them awhile, but then had to walk around.  We ended up leaving in the 2nd inning...and watching it at home...and decided that from now on just Matt and I would be going to the games!

Our seats we stole for awhile

A Royals photographer took some photos of us!

Before the whining ensued...

Ahhhhhh

Too bad we couldn't enjoy more of the game!

The other two wouldn't pose!

#1 and #3
On our way out.  Bryce's first Royals game!

Happy to be leaving!

My boys on the way to the car!
Bryce was eating some cereal.  He thought Zane needed some as well!
The next morning at church it was the blessing of the backpacks.  We accidentally forgot our backpacks, but the kids were still blessed!  Mason saw me in the back of the church right away...it was cute to see him smile and wave at me!

Monday Matt found out he had to go to Alabama for a meeting for work.  I was sad because I was starting school, and with him gone it meant just me with the kids...hoping they'd cooperate!  Also, Zane had his back to school night when Matt was gone.  I was sad he had to miss it!

I now have three days of school under my belt!  My class seems to be sweet!  I always forget just how little these kiddos know when school starts and how much they grow throughout the year.  Patience and grace is key!  Zane started school the day after me and he reports he loves it!  I can hardly believe he is a 2nd grader already!

2nd grade!!!

Friday evening we drove to my parents house so we could attend the Iowa State Fair.  Even though it was late when we arrived, the boys were ready to play!

Zane was super excited that there was a Lego area there this year.  We spent a little bit of time there.

This is all made of Legos!

Getting ready to build...he built a pontoon on a boat trailer!

What's the fair without a corndog?

Matt tasted this new corndog...he will pass on it next year!
The fair wears a fella out!
We went back to my parents house late Saturday night.  Everyone was pooped!  Sunday we woke up and hung around the house.  The boys enjoyed playing outside, we all went to the park, then we ate dinner and left.  It was nice to be able to spend some time there!

Papa and Bryce going down the slide

Mason was doing pull-ups!

Playing the piano.  Mason just couldn't wait to get there and play the piano!

Golfing in Papa's backyard!  They have a putting green!
The boys were pleased...they got to see their grandparents...they got to climb on tractors...they were in seventh heaven!  And now we are ready to start our first full week of school.  We should be pretty exhausted by the end of it!
