Christmas

Last Monday we had our first snow day of the year!  I'm not a huge fan of them, so hopefully there won't be many others.  I just like my summer more!  That night we had Bryce's preschool program.  We were early enough to score front row seats, right in front of Bryce!  I was afraid he would just goof around with us right there but he didn't!

Cutest sheep ever!

Up close and personal!

Preschool programs are the most adorable!

Singing along!

Cutie!
I have won the "ugly sweater" contest the last 3 years, so I always feel the pressure to make sure each year tops the last.  Last year was the year I was wheeled into the ER in my ugly sweater, so I laid in bed and came up with this year's idea.  Thanks Pinterest!  I find the ideas, Matt makes them come to life!  He did a GREAT job this year!  I don't know yet if I won or not, it wasn't announced before I left for break!

Me, the fireplace!

Having the boys at my school is super nice on party days because I am able to sneak away to their party for a bit!
We took a million but finally got a good one.  He kept looking away...

Fun and games!

Zane's class was playing Minute to Win it and he would barely let me pose with him...teacher made him!
Thankfully another mom sent me this from Bryce's party

Bryce and Morgan busy eating!
Bryce got wrapped up as a present during a class game!
On our way to lunch to kick off Christmas break, we saw this where they are buliding Costco.  We were intrigued!

Bryce has REALLY been into our elves this year.  Matt and I have both heard him talking to them, telling them what he wants, reporting with Mason or his friends at school have been naughty, or just telling them he loves them!  So super cute!

Buzz and Si!

Bryce found this sweater I had in the basement and wanted to give it to them.

Just hanging out with the elves
On Christmas Eve we went to church, then decided to have hibachi for supper.  I think this might become our annual tradition!  Zane caught 4 shrimp!  He loved it and thinks this is what he'll pick for his birthday dinner!

It was hard to get good pictures!
After that we went home and decorated gingerbread houses.

Frosting mustache!

Mason's masterpiece

What focus...

Fun times!
I think Bryce was a little sad the elves were leaving.  He just laid there looking at them and then said "I love you Buzz and Si!"  When he put the donut and milk out for Santa, he pointed to the elves and said "This is for your Boss!"  So cute!

I love you Buzz and Si!
Usually on Christmas morning I wait for the boys to wake up.  This year, Bryce was up about 3:45!  We made him lay down and told him he had to wait until 8:00 to open them.  He proceeded to wake up Mason and they both stayed in the living room, as quietly as they could.  At exactly 8:00, they came into my room and said "eight zero zero, time to open presents!"  Oh my, they were excited!

Obligatory photo!

Seriously mom, let us open presents!

My favorite day!
They were so excited, Christmas didn't last long at all, they tore into everything so quickly!

Every year my mom had a "scavenger hunt" for a gift for all of us.  This year we got a couple of gifts that were for everyone and they were large, so I didn't want to wrap them.  So I had Matt make a hunt and he did great!  He led them everywhere!

It was a great day!  I just always hate when it's over!

Christmas was too much for everyone!  Ha!
Thomas had a great Christmas this year too!  My parents were down there so I was getting lots of photo updates of their weekend from everyone!  Love it!

Acting like Kevin from Home Alone!

Watching Christmas movies

Dad and Son!

A bed full of Bunches!

AAAHHH!
Hope everyone had a great Christmas!!!

Baker Christmases

This past weekend we had our Baker Christmases.  The weather did not cooperate so well...we almost weren't able to go because of ice, but we braved the weather and headed to Iowa...a few hours later than we had planned.  But, alas, we made it there safe and sound and had a great time with everyone!!!

First we were at Grandma Baker's house.  We played a saran wrap ball game.  Toys, candy, etc are wrapped in a huge saran wrap ball.  For the kids, each one took a turn and whenever they got to the next "goody," they got to keep it, then passed it on to the next person.  It's kind of like having a pinata without the mess and bats flying around!

Bryce got to start

Come on kid!  :)

There we go!

Zane's turn!

Mason got a stab at it.  (There's a full Snickers in there...Zane ended up with it)!

The boys with their loot!  You should have heard all of the trading happening, especially for chapstick.  Who knew???

The adults had one too, but ours was a little trickier.  You had to wear mittens, so it was hard to unwrap.  And while you unwrapped, the next person rolled diced.  You could keep unwrapping until that person rolled doubles, then your turn was over.  You might have gotten a prize, you might not have.  It was fun!!!

Adult version...a tad trickier!

Go Matt Go!

For our gift exchange this year, we all brought $5 gifts.  We used to do $1 but changed it up this year.  We all sit in a circle with our gift, and as Uncle Dennis reads "Twas the Night Before Christmas" we pass to the left for "and" and to the right for "the."  When the story ends, you have your gift!  We had a kid and adult circle this year...such fun!  It was neat to see the gifts people found for $5.  We ended up with many of our own because of trading!  :)

Twas THE night before Christmas AND all through THE house...

Sunday we had Christmas with Matt's immediate family.  It was the first Christmas in their new house!  Yay!  We opened gifts, had a great dinner, and just spend some good old family time together!

Dual gifts for the boys to share.  They are already OBSESSED with playing poker!!!

As always, our time with family went too quickly.  We headed back home Sunday afternoon.  I looked out the window and the sunset was just gorgeous.  Reminded me of why we were even traveling!  :)
