Christmas Break, Bunch Christmas

We have been meaning to get to the doctor for our flu shots so finally found some time this week.  In true Baker fashion, as we were talking out of the doctor's office, Zane said "Mom, I feel dizzy."  So we had to turn around and go back into a room while he got over his dizziness.  He told me that he hadn't eaten any breakfast, which didn't help, and we've now learned he's going to be sensitive for things like this.  At least we know and will know what to do now!

Cooling off, getting his bearings!
This week we really just stayed home and relaxed.  As much as I want to be the "fun mom" that takes them to the bouncy places, on play dates, etc, I'm also trying to keep us healthy.  Everywhere we turn, we know people who are sick!  Lots of yucky stuff going around, so we just tried to avoid it all by staying home!  That made this week a tad rough for us, as the boys quickly got bored and would start fighting, wrestling, yelling, etc.

This weekend we headed to Des. Moines to be with my dad's family for Christmas.  Since it fell on New Year's weekend this year, we didn't have near as many family members in attendance.  But we still had fun!  We went up a day early this year since Matt got off of work early.  This gave us time to do a little furniture shopping as well!

Great Aunt Donnella vs. Zane...wait until next year!
The boys were completely bored shopping, but did have a little fun at Scheel's!  And we were a tad goofy at lunch.

Bowling!

While at the hotel Bryce had a great time writing and drawing on the marker board.  He is growing and learning so much and getting himself ready for kindergarten!  He sounded all of this out by himself.

"Bearcats (paw print) Let's Go Bearcats (paw print)
"Bearcats are the best."

This is a game Bryce created and had people play.  He wrote numbers on the board - 2 of each number.  Then he'd tell you a number and you had to circle the matches.  So if he said "31," you had to find and circle both of the 31's.  Pretty creative!

We left the hotel around 11.  We just couldn't hang!  Mason was a complete grump and ready to go to bed, and I can't say I was sad.  I was ready for bed!  So we didn't really celebrate the new year coming in, we just went to bed and it came in without us really knowing!  Ha!  Happy New Year everyone!!!
