Pumpkin Patch

This week was crazy!  We started with great news at Mason's first parent-teacher conference!  His teacher had nothing but good things to say about him!  He's polite, follows directions, is one of the first to clean up and move on to the next thing, and is learning what he needs to be learning!  We are so proud of him!!!

I had parent teacher conferences Wednesday and Thursday, so Matt was Super Dad!!!  It was nice to have Friday off with the two little boys.  We didn't do much...just relaxed!  Friday night my mom and dad stayed with us on their way to the NW game in Topeka on Saturday.  They stayed with the boys so we could have some much needed alone time.  We went to a movie and enjoyed time together!

Saturday we headed to the pumpkin patch to choose our pumpkins.  It was cold!!!  But we had a great time together!!!

The best I could get.  2/3 smiling and looking isn't bad right?

My only boy who would pose for me!

Zane's growing!

Here's how tall Mason is

And Bryce had the help of the stroller

Any takers?

Feeding the animals

Riding the trikes

We could barely find one that worked!

They loved the big slides!

Mason said "it's an auger!"  They have it set up to look like a big auger, but it's a slide!  He had fun too!

Zane, Mom, and Mason riding the train

We couldn't believe all the pumpkins they have left!

Mason chose these two for he and Bryce!

Zane chose this BIG one!

Bryce helping Dad hold this pear shaped pumpkin

A combine!  A combine!  You'd think they never saw one before!
After we got home Saturday I was tired, so took a nap.  Little did I know that when I woke up I would have the stomach flu!  I...was...miserable!  Lucky for me it didn't last long, but it was awful!    I felt awful. I got sick. I couldn't spend time with my boys. Thankfully Matt truly is Super Dad and just took over! He is so wonderful. Thank you honey for not complaining, and keeping the boys away from this germ-fest. I hope you all escape it!  And come to find out there were around 20 teachers who had it also, including my principal.  They called in some cleaners today to disinfect my school.  Today I haven't gotten sick, but had a headache and was just weak all day.  I hope I can make it through tomorrow okay!

Fall Classic and Shooting a Wedding!

I missed last week!  It's been super duper crazy busy around here!  Two weekends ago, it was the annual Fall Classic - Northwest vs. Pitt State at Arrowhead Stadium.  This is always a fun game to go to!  Mom and Dad came down for the game.  They stayed with us Friday night.  Saturday we went to Oklahoma Joe's for lunch to celebrate Matt's birthday, then we headed to the stadium.  Matt stayed home with the boys.  The game was supposed to start at 4:00.  Of course it was raining pretty good much of the afternoon.  It ended up starting about 50 minutes late, then after it got started the rain started up again, so there was another delay!  In the end it was all worth it, because THE BEARCATS WON!!!  It was an amazing game!

This kid is SO HAPPY...ALL THE TIME!!!

No worries...he is well supported!  He thought this was hilarious!
Sunday we all went to church and our plan was to go to the pumpkin patch.  However, becuase of all of the rain Saturday, we knew it would be awful muddy, so we chose not to go.  Ended up it was good we didn't go...mom started feeling bad when they were ready to leave.  She said her side hurt bad.  I thought maybe she had a little stomach bug, until she said it was her side.  They took off, but about 15 minutes later dad called and said they were headed back...mom wasn't feeling any better and didn't want to be riding in the car!  So she came here and still didn't get better.  I was out and about running errands, and Dad called again to say he wondered if we should take her to the hospital.  (Remember two years ago?  Kidney stone?).  I was sure it was another kidney stone.  We took her to the ER.  She was in a LOT of pain.  Sure enough, it was a kidney stone!  Last time she had one 6mm.  This one was 3mm.  They gave her meds, and sent her on her way.  We had houseguests for one more night!  I've talked to them a couple of times this week and she says she's feeling good!

Focusing on coloring!

Happy baby boy
This weekend was my dear friend Jamie's wedding!  She asked me to make cupcakes for the reception and take pictures.  I was happy to help out!  So Friday I baked the cupcakes...Saturday I frosted them.  We ended up with 99 cupcakes!  Weird number, I know...but that's what we had.  Saturday I shot her wedding...first one ever...and I sure wish I was better at it!  I had a lot of fun, and could actually see myself doing that as a side job...but have so much more to learn!  It was an honor to be a part of their special day!  Jamie and I were roommates at NW and I'm so glad we've remained close!  She now lives in Platte City, so I love it that she's close to me!  It was great to see her family, they are amazing as well.  I wish she and Brian the best always!  (And my assistant was great...thanks honey for following me around and helping with all the equipment)!  She has the memory card with all of the pictures right now...I'll post a few pictures when I get it back!  (Jamie - no hurry)!

9 Months Old!

As I got Bryce ready to take his 9 month photos...Mason had to pose as well...

Mason in his old crib

Look at the cute baby!  HA!
I cannot believe he is 9 months old already!  Bryce is such an amazing addition to our family!  He is such a happy baby!  He's good too...easy to watch, fun to cuddle, smiles all the time!  At 9 months, Bryce:
  • Has 4 teeth (all in front, 2 top, 2 bottom)
  • LOVES to feed himself!  Doesn't love baby food as much.  So we do a lot of finger foods!
  • Loves to sleep on his tummy...sometime face straight down into his mattress!
  • Cruises the furniture!  He can stand briefly, but once he realizes he's doing it, he freaks out!
  • Eats about 8 ounces of formula every 4-ish hours
  • Takes 2 day naps and sleeps 10-11 hours at night
  • Loves everyone
  • Smiles all the time
He's growing!  And this photo is getting harder to get each month...I can't get him to lay still!

Such a big boy!
Saturday we headed to watch Zane in his first parade for Cub Scouts!  Unfortunately the weather decided to take a DIVE!  Right into the 40's!  Bryce and Mason were troopers...we had to wait about an hour and a half because Zane's float was literally the LAST ONE in the whole parade!

Watching the floats go by

Here it comes!  Where's Zane?  Oh, he got too cold...he's in the pickup!

Bryce's first piece of candy...a sucker...he loved it!

YUM!
Sunday turned out to be a pretty nice day, so we headed to the park!

Growing up way too fast!
