Happy Easter!

How did Easter get here already?  So crazy!  And even crazier that this week started with SNOW and ended with over 60 degree weather!

Jo had an egg hunt at her house for the kids.  Bryce got a lot of loot!

Look at all those eggs!

We stayed home this year for Easter.  Our church just completed some renovations and we were at the very first church service with them finished!  They had an early service Saturday night, and we went then.  So this morning we enjoyed sleeping in a little bit and relaxing in our jammies for the morning!  Bryce was the first one to see the Easter eggs trailing into the living room and he wondered what was going on!

What are these?
This!  This!  Look mom!

Zane with his basket

Mason with his basket

Bryce wouldn't sit down by his...he just kept wanting to show me everything and wanted me to open it all up!

Happy Easter!

Bryce wanted to open every single one!

And then shove it all in his mouth!
Matt's parents came down to spend the day with us.  We spent most of the day outside enjoying the beautiful weather!  Now I'm ready for it to be like this every day!  And Bryce is beside himself...he has been waiting for this weather for a long time!  He loves to be outside and gets very upset when we come in!

Happy little camper!

Look at Bryce's expression...bubbles were coming his way!

Making bubbles!

Mason riding his bike!  He tried to ride without training wheels...but didn't trust himself!

Bryce doesn't walk...he runs!

Zane and Grandma playing foozball

He couldn't stop grinning!

This one kills me...doesn't he look pleased with himself?  Here he's looking at Papa and wanting Papa to watch him!
Thanks for checking in on us...have a great week!

Leprechaun Trap

A couple of cute pictures of Bryce at Jo's house...

Playing on the floor

This child CONSTANTLY has his fingers in his mouth!
Last Sunday was St. Patrick's Day and for some reason Zane kept asking if he could build a leprechaun trap.  He said he had an idea and wanted to try it out.  So he tried it...

My boys working on the trap

Taping money to the box

Writing notes

Mom overseeing
Mason's note said "Do not take my gold"

Zane wrote "Do not touch this gold."  There's also tape covering the bowl, with a "trap hole" on top.

"Here is no gold."

The trap!
If you ask Zane what his favorite app on his Kindle Fire is...his answer will be "YouTube."  He loves to get on there and watch people putting Lego sets together.  Secretly, he practices doing this himself...he's dying for us to record him and put him on youtube!  We sometimes hear him practicing in his room...quietly so we don't know...but he just wants to do that himself!  He wanted me to record him telling all about his trap, and I actually put it on youtube...here goes:

Zane with his trap

Mason posing by the trap

Then Mason decided to "shake his booty"
We've taught Bryce some sign language. Here you'll see him wave "hi," sign "more" and say "bye"

As soon as Bryce hears music, he starts dancing. Usually he bounces up and down, but on this particular day he was spinning in circles. Too cute!

Gross, I know...don't judge. Naturally, before I got the camera out, Bryce was belly laughing harder than I've ever heard him laugh...all about the boys spitting water on him...I did get a little bit of it on tape here...

I'm sad to report that we did NOT catch a leprechaun!  When we woke up in the morning, this is what we found:
He escaped!

There were coins all the way down the steps!

And he even needed to use the restroom!
This weekend started with the boys going to Parents Night Out at Zane's Y-Club.  They are trying to raise money, so we thought it was a great cause!  They don't take anyone not potty trained, so it was Matt, Bryce, and I for the evening!  Matt was up at Yancy's working on the boat motor, so we headed that way and hung out there for awhile, then had supper.  The boys reported they had fun there, and when I picked them up they were dancing in the dark!  :)

Saturday the big boys went to a movie while I stayed home and frosted about 11 dozen cupcakes for a family in my class who had an event for the child that's in my class.  He was born with a congenital heart defect, has had more surgeries than I'd like to tell you about, and is a blessing to know and have in my life!  Anyway, I was glad to help out and had fun making them!

Yesterday around 4:30 it started snowing.  And snowing.  And snowing.  It did quit for awhile, but began again in the night.  When we woke up it was still snowing and everything was covered!  We jumped into the Tahoe and were a tad late for church...but we were there!  Zane and Mason were the only kids in one Sunday School class...they had the teacher to themselves!

Gearing up for another crazy busy week!  Have a good one!

Spring Break and Operation Swimsuit Body

I found this picture on my phone from last week that I forgot to share!  Matt and Zane went to Joe's Pizza on their way to Cub Scouts.  Zane thought it was hilarious that the pizza was bigger than his head!  And now it's all he can talk about.  Matt thought it would be a neat and fun place that could be "their place" and when he told Zane about it, all he could say was "Could Mason come here sometime too?"  I tell you...these boys have such a love/hate relationship!

Joe's Pizza...YUM!
This week was spring break for Mason, Bryce, and I.  Poor Zane had to go to school.  (And Matt, who had to work).  Unfortunately Zane's old enough now to realize just what's going on.  He cried Monday morning when he had to go to school...knowing we got to stay home all day.  Made me feel bad!  We took advantage of having the time to visit people and eat at different places.  Monday we went to Oklahoma Joe's with Matt, Tuesday we took lunch to Zane at school, and Wednesday we met Mary and Nora for lunch.  It was really cute to see Mason at Zane's school.  He told me "I've had McDonald's too much Mom.  I want to take my own lunch."  So we packed him a lunch and he took that!  I think it was less about McDonald's and more about packing a lunch to take to school!  Anyway, all three boys were VERY GOOD during this lunch, even though we sat at a table of boys and they were trying to impress me with how goofy they could be.  I was very proud of Zane for not joining in!

We also did a lot of eating out for supper as well!  I know...I had more time on my hands than normal...but I took full advantage of time with the boys and relaxation during the days...and didn't have anything to show for it by nighttime!  Ha!

Bryce LOVES pasta with alfredo sauce!  He has also discovered ketchup as of late...YUM!
YUM!
We hit a milestone with our van this week...100,000 miles!  Yes, I was driving as I took this photo...and going over 60...I promise you I was safe!  :o)

100,000?  Wow!
Operation Swimsuit Body is now ON!  We have been talking about taking a trip to celebrate our 10th anniversary, which was last September, for awhile now.  We originally wanted to go over spring break...which would now mean it would be over (glad we didn't now) but it didn't work out.  So this week we booked a trip to Mexico!!!  We are going in June and are super excited!!  Neither of us have passports, so we applied on Saturday.  We had all the paperwork filled out, our pictures taken, and headed to the Post Office.  Little did we know that the Post Office we chose to go to was under-staffed and was only taking so many applications per day.  We got there at 9:50 a.m. and didn't leave until 12:00 p.m!  Did I mention it was all 5 of us?  Oh I didn't?  Well, it was!  It was a terrible long wait for all of us.  And even though it ws frustrating for us becuase the boys were restless, they really did well considering that they were there for 2 hours and 10 minutes!

After dinner...the boys needed toothpicks like Papa Dennis!  Zane said he had food in his teeth and Mason said "I just leave this in my mouth.  I don't get food out of my teeth."
Lately we've been struggling with electronics.  It's all the boys want to do.  All day long.  All night long.  From the moment they wake up.  Until they go to bed.  Even in bed.  Wii.  DS.  Kindle Fire.  TV.  So this weekend we took everything away for the whole day Saturday.  Wow.  What do you know.  The boys played together!  Okay, I might be exaggerating, but to an extent they are over-electronicized!  So new rules have been put into place and hopefully they're remember how to use their imaginations and play more!  We were also very fortunate to have two beautiful days to end our spring break...Thursday and Friday!  The weather was GORGEOUS those days!  So we took advantage by going to the park Thursday and playing outside Friday.  What a mean, mean tease Mother Nature.  Because the following day it was 40!

FARMING!  Zane is Papa Craig, Mason is Old Papa

Loading the wagons

Farmers working together
This week we've had trouble getting up.  Some of it is due to knowing we didn't have to go anywhere...but we've also had trouble adjusting to the time change!  And tomorrow will be the first day since the time change that we have to get up and ready and to school/work/daycare.  I'm wishing us luck as I type!

MORE Snow Days and A trip to Iowa

Somehow I let last week slip past me and didn't post!  Whoops!  Two weeks ago I started my week with a meeting with the kindergarten parents for next year.  Right before the meeting it started snowing again and I was afraid noone would come.  We ended up with 37 kindergarten kids, so a good turnout for the first one.  When I left that day, I took things home with me...anticipating more snow days...and got them!  So we had just had Thursday and Friday off for snow.  Then we worked Monday.  Then we had Tuesday and Wednesday off.  I...am...tired...of...snow!

Brycers...you don't need the bouncy seat!

Jo...can I go outside?  Please?

Cheering with Kerrigan

Chatting with Kerrigan

Mis-matched day at Jo's!  How about that Halloween onesie and Christmas pants (Santa on the rear)!

This is how we spent much of our snow days...

As well as dressing up!

When Mason was getting his costume on...he said, "Awww...we look so cute!"
This week was "normal..." and by normal I mean we were at work all week!  Then this weekend we headed to Iowa.  I attended a baby shower on Saturday morning for my friend Jamie, who will be having a baby in April.  After that, Matt and I had lunch with my parents.  Then we went to Grandma Baker's house for supper.  They were kind enough to also invite my parents, so the boys had supper with 3 sets of grandparents!  You should have seen the spread...meatloaf, fried chicken, mashed potatoes, macaroni, corn, etc...etc...etc...wow!  It was delicious!  And we had a great time just spending time together!

Mason, Papa, and Zane playing memory!
This week is spring break for Mason, Bryce, and I.  Zand had a hard time going to school today, he was pretty upset knowing we'd all be home and he'd be at school.  And unfortunately during his spring break week we will be in school so he will spend his time in Y-Club and not really get a week at home like us.  But we're planning to take him lunch so at least that's something special for him.

Have a great week!
