Last Tuesday I had my one hour glucose test. I'd been dreading this...let's just say I'm not new to it at all...so I went for the test. All went well. The next morning I got a call that I had failed...and set up my 3 hour test for Thursday.

Since the 3 hour glucose test doesn't start until 9:00, I had to take a whole day off of work. You are required to fast from 12:00 the night before until the test is over. If you would have been my neighbor, you would have seen my kitchen lights come on so that I could snack around 11:30 Wednesday night! I was thinking it was going to be a long day!!! The test didn't go too badly. The doctor's office now has wifi, so I was able to take my computer and get a lot of work done for school. That made the time pass pretty quickly! The next morning when the nurse called me, she was almost screaming when she said, "Amy Baker, you are NOT a gestational diabetic!" She and I were both in disbelief! She called me as soon as she saw it because she was so excited...and so was I! I am not completely out of the clear...they'll keep checking my sugar levels at each appointment, but for now I can just be a regular pregnant woman!

Friday, Jo decided to take the kids on a "field trip" to a park and then for lunch at McDonald's. You can tell by the photos below that they had a great time!!!

This weekend was the Nascar race at Kansas Speedway. We didn't go out there this year until Saturday morning. First we met Matt's mom and Grandma in St. Joe so the boys could go stay on the farm while we were at the races. We had a fun time with great friends. It's hard to believe this was the 11th year! We have been there all 11 years! Time sure does fly!

Can you believe that they boys had the time of their life on the farm? On Friday...luckily before they were there...the combine caught on fire. So they had to borrow one. Sounds like even the borrowed one had issues! Unfortunately, the weekend didn't turn out to be quite the way the boys had planned...they thought they'd be farming all weekend...but by the looks of the photos they didn't lack in fun!

Toward the middle of the week, my dad's youngest brother, Daryl, was rushed to the hospital. At first they thought he was having a massive heart attack. Later they found out he was in respiratory failure. By the end of the week he was doing much better...breathing on his own...in therapy...and it looked as though he was going to get to come home sometime this week. Then through the night he was having trouble breathing and his blood pressure went really low. So he is still there and they are trying to figure out how to best help him get better. Please contine to pray for my family and for the doctors as they try to help Uncle Daryl regain his health!
