Summer Fun!

This past week didn't feel too much like summer...but we enjoyed it all the same!  The weather was pretty windy and cool...so it wasn't really pool weather, so we spent a lot of quality time at home!  Monday I had to go to school in the afternoon to teach a class to other teachers.  The plan was to take the boys to Tara's house for her to watch them, as she was teaching a class Wednesday, and we planned to watch each others' kids those days.  As our great luck would have it, Zane wasn't feeling well Monday morning and thought he would be sick...so I had to call Tara and tell her they wouldn't be coming over.  Luckily Matt was able to go to work for a couple of hours and then come back to stay home with the boys while I was teaching my class.  Zane didn't end up getting sick, I think he probably just had some phlem in his throat that was making him feel choked, but you never know!

My life...with two boys who love to wrestle each other!

On Wednesday it was Tara's turn to teach her class, so we got to have the Garcia boys over!  It was all Zane could talk about the entire week...Ryan coming over and would he bring his DS and when is he coming...he was excited!  They boys had a GREAT time playing and it was actually less work to have them all than it is to have just my two...they entertained each other!  About an hour after they left, Zane said, "I miss Ryan!"  Ryan's one of the buddies from Jo's house that Zane will always treasure and definitely miss!

I had a doctor's appointment this week...my monthly checkup plus my one-hour glucose test.  Yes, it's early for that, but since I've had gestational diabetes in both of my other pregnancies, I have to be checked early.  I was so happy to get the phone call on Friday morning saying that my test came back NORMAL and as of right now I do NOT have gestational diabetes!  I was really hoping I wouldn't have it yet...we haven't gone on vacation yet and my birthday is in a couple of weeks...how unfair to have to count carbs and check your blood sugars for those two occasions!  I will need to be rechecked at 28 weeks, and am almost sure I'll probably have it, but for now I'll get to enjoy pregnancy like every other woman does!

A rare moment of getting along...

They're getting better at posing for me...
This week we got our tee ball pictures back.  Zane was not in a great mood this night and not real cooperative...luckily I was able to make him smile so we could at least have a good picture!  The picture is better quality than this, I just took a quick picture of the picture to post on here!  It's been really fun to go to his games and watch him!  This week he played catcher and 3rd base.  Of course no balls came to him, so he didn't like that, but that's part of the game!  It's just hard for a 6 year old to understand that!

Zane-isms
  • We were at Legends the other night and they have a restaurant called T-Rex.  The boys like to go see the dinosaurs there.  So as I was off shopping, Matt was walking there with the boys.  Zane started talking about how all of the dinosaurs are gone now because people hunted them with guns.  Matt was trying to explain to him why the dinosaurs really aren't here and he said noone really knows what they look like for sure because people didn't see them and Zane's response was, "I think Grandma Farmer saw them."  Oh Zane!

Mason's Marvels

  • Mason has been COMPLETELY obsessed with the Grinch!  He now calls the cartoon version "little Grinch" and the human version "big Grinch."  He wants to watch them every day...so I try to spread out the viewings...but because of all of the times he's seen it...he now quotes the Grinch!  He gets that deep, scratchy voice going and will say "4 hours til Christmas" or "What do you want?"  He talks about Whoville, Cindy Lou Who, and how the Grinchy does things.  It's hilarious!
