Welcome Fall Weather!

The 70 degree temperatures this week were welcomed at our home with open arms!  We have spent a lot of time outside!!  It does make it hard to stay in a good bedtime routine when it's so nice out and all of our neighbors are out there as well!  I'm all over fall...burning fall scents, getting fall decorations out...I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it!

We have some new neighbors...well really they're not new...they've lived here before, but for a few years they were renting their house out, then their renter moved out, they sold their house, so they are back!  When they left they just had one kid (the girl in the next picture) and now they have two.  Zane calls Camryn his "best friend" and is always watching their house to see if they are out.  They've become fast friends!  Today was Camryn's birthday party and they had a bounce house in their backyard.  The boys had a blast playing in it!  Then they all played together in our yards and cul-de-sac.

I wanted a picture and Mason is saying "NOOOOO!"

Matt has worked so hard and spent so much time in the last few years making it look so nice.  Last year our back yard looked awful and this year our front yard died!  So he mowed it down short and today re-seeded it.  This is what our front yard looked like today...

Mason's Marvels
  • The other day as I was picking Mason up at Jo's house, he and Lauren were playing in the yard when suddenly he started crying, in a panic.  Lauren told us there was a snake, which there was, so we all kind of got away from it and got Dale.  Later that night, Mason told Matt that "there was a snake at Jo's and I freaked out!"
  • Mason unfortunately has a new favorite word...we'll say "darnit..." but replace the 3rd letter with an "m."  (And, I can tell you, he heard it from someone else...not us).  Anyway, he's been testing us, saying "damp, damp" and just looking at us out of the corner of his eye.  The other day, Jo emailed me to say he had been saying it there, so he went to time out a time or two.  That night, Matt asked him how Jo's house was and he said, "I did not hit or kick my friends, I was nice.  But I did say 'darnit.'  I'm not supposed to say 'darnit."  So the next morning when Matt asked him what he would do at Jo's, he said, "I will be nice to my friends and I won't say 'darnit.'"  STINKER!
  • Today the boys were outside with Matt and it got pretty hot out there.  So they took a break and laid in the shade.  When I asked what they were doing, Mason told me they were "laying in the shave."
