What a week! Matt was SUPER busy at work. And when I say SUPER busy...I mean we barely saw him...he worked until at least 12:00 3 nights last week! He's got to be exhausted! It's hard to know how to feel about his job being so busy...becuase a year ago at this time he was laid off...so I hate to complain...but I like having him home! So...that's enough...I'll stop complaining!
Early in the week another teacher brought me some cake pops (we both love to bake so we always bring things to each other). Zane tried a couple of them and decided he really liked them. Eventually there was only one left and he was worried that Matt may eat the last one, when he really wanted to be sure he could have it. So he came up with this solution...a note stuck to the baggie:

And in true fashion for us...since it was already such a busy week...I got a call at work on Thursday that Mason had a rash all over him and was itching like crazy. Luckily Matt was still home and could go get him as it was the ONLY day of the week I had a meeting all day that I couldn't miss. Matt stayed home with him and took him to the doctor, to find out he had strep (not strep throat, just strep) and also eczema (which we already knew). Poor guy looked like he had some weird disease! Luckily it was easy to deal with...he was acting, playing, eating normal...just had to get an antibiotic. He already looks SO much better!

Since we have had the last 2 weeks of races cancelled due to weather, we didn't go back to Iowa until Saturday morning. The car was ready to go! Here are some pictures of the car this year:

We had our final Easter on Sunday with the Beggs family. The boys had fun playing with everyone! Mason is obsessed with baby Corbyn...I feel bad for him! But he means well and loves him to pieces...we just have to work on our handling skills!

After hunting eggs, we decided to go check out the baby calves. There were three of them. They were a little unsure of all of us and I think we scared them. Everything was going well, we were able to get close to a couple of them, and then...Mason got caught up in the cable that the cow was tied to...and it was a little scary there for a minute! The cable wrapped right around his waist and for a moment time just froze. Thankfully Richard was right by him so he grabbed Mason by the arm and scooped him up. We still had to get the cable unwrapped from his feet, and he was pretty shaken up, but it all ended well. He keeps talking about "that darn cow, he was naughty." He'll show everyone the marks on his belly from the cable, and is sure to say that it "burned" and "that cow was mean to me." Let's hope it teaches him to be careful around animals...you just never know!
