Baseball and Football and Baseball...OH MY!

Zane had his final Scouting ceremony, the Arrow of Light.  He has decided not to go on with Boy Scouts and focus on baseball.  I think he had a hard time deciding because he didn't want to disappoint Matt, his leader Frank, or anyone else.  But in the end his heart wasn't really in it and he really wants to work on baseball, so this was the best decision.

To think that when we bought this shirt...it was HUGE on him!
His Arrow of Light award!
Zane with Frank!
Zane is playing Fall Ball with a new team and also a division up.  The competition is quite a bit more!  His team does really well.  So far they are undefeated and win by quite a margin most games!  He's such a hard worker, always wanting to learn more, and it's fun to watch him.

A little batting practice with Dad
BOOM!
Pitching

Look at that form!
Mason is on a machine pitch team this fall.  It's full of boys he's played with in both baseball and football, so he really enjoys it!  His team is called Ambush and they have Dad, Grandma, and Grandpa's old school colors!

Trying to avoid a photo, but I got him!
Fielding a ball at short stop
In his first game he had 2 balls go clear to the fence!

Zane up to bat

He struck out, but the ball was dropped so he made it to first
And then stole second
Wednesday evening I went to the Royals game with all of the VBS directors.  It was our way of celebrating that we made it through another year of VBS!  We had so much fun, even though the game was 13 innings long!

Unfortunately I missed both Zane and Mason's games that night, but they both won!  Since Zane has joined a new team that has been together awhile, he's really only played outfield so far.  This night he got to play third!

At third base!
Thursday evening we got free tickets to the Chiefs/Packers pre-season game!  We went with a host of other football/boy families and had so much fun!  Our school's P.E. teacher is a season ticket holder and asked Zane and I to go down on the field with him to hold the giant KC flag before the game!  Opportunity of a lifetime and it was so much fun!  What great memories we will have of this night!

Football moms!

Tailgating...literally!

Look at how many boys we all have!

I can't remember why...but Bryce was shocked about something here!
Colt, Lincoln, Mason, all in the same class.  I sent this photo of them eating cotton candy to their teacher!  It was a school night!

Saturday was the Salvy Splash Bobblehead day.  I've waited all summer for this game!  I just love Salvy!  The boys have been pretty excited about it too!  Mason was invited to go to the game with his buddy Matthew for his birthday.  So we all went, just not together.  We knew the Salvy bobblehead would be really popular, so we went early.  We got there for the 6:15 game at 2:00, and saw people already in line.  So we shoved our sandwiches in our mouths and headed to line up around 2:30.  I was worried we wouldn't get our bobbleheads, but we did!  Yay!

Ready for the game!  I got these shoes from Adam and Bethany for being in their wedding!
Zane and I stood in the outfield during batting practice.  Danny Duffy was there!
Having a great time!
SALVY!
Can you tell he's excited?!?
Focused!
Mason, Matthew, and Ben
Tough guys!
After the game we saw Rally Mantis!  It looked like he got a Salvy Splash!  Haha!
Today, Labor Day, has been a nice one.  We started by relaxing at home, then went to Dave and Buster's for lunch, and now I'm home alone while the boys are at the park practicing baseball!  The boys still have one more day off since I have a teacher work day tomorrow, so Grandma is coming down to stay with them tomorrow!

Huddled around the laptop watching baseball videos!
Lunch and games and Dave and Busters
Cool guy Mason...
