So this happened...
Oh my goodness what an exciting year it's been with the Royals! We knew all along they were champions. Now the world knows! Never count the Royals out!
The boys decided they didn't want to trick or treat this year. None of them wanted to dress up! Next year I must remember to NOT get them new costumes because they won't wear them! We did head to Adam and Bethany's, then went home to watch the Royals. Zane's class had a fall party. His teacher shared these photos:

Matt had our yard World Series ready. This KC isn't as big as last year's...but shows up better!
The whole month of October was filled with Royals games. It is really a blur. Many nights the boys got to bed late, sometimes without baths, and most times without reading books. Oops. Here is the night the Royals won the world series. We began our evening at Minsky's and ended watching it at home. Trusty old Kindle Fires kept them quiet and busy so we could focus on the game!

The whole city was excited for our team. So much so that school closed! It was my FAVORITE closing ever! Everyone named it a "blue snow day." Yes, we're making it up at the end of the year, but what a fun memory for all of us to have! We braved the Royal Celebration parade. We left our house at 9:00 for the 12:00 parade, thinking we'd have plenty of time but man were we wrong! What normally takes us 20 minutes took us 2 hours! And then to find parking was a whole other issue! We ended up finding a parking spot, but had to walk 2 miles to get to the parade route. The boys really did well, until we got there and then had to wait for the parade to start. They were hungry...hot...thirsty...bored...but as soon as they started seeing the players all of that was forgotten!
Bryce was on Matt's shoulders and could see fine. Zane was very upset thinking he'd see nothing and Mason was mad that he came there and couldn't see anything. A gentleman standing by us offered for Mason to get on his shoulders so he could see and let him stay there the whole parade. Zane made his way up to the front and could see very well. To me, that's what we were there for...so the boys could have these memories. I could see just OK but I was just happy to be there.
IF and WHEN this happens again...we learned to go super early, take things to do, and just wait!

This weekend we headed to the farm so the boys could do some combining. Zane wasn't interested but the other two were! They all 3 had a ton of fun on the farm, as always, and can't wait for their next visit!

We are now back on more of a nighttime schedule, but are feeling lost without baseball to watch each night! We'll catch up on our sleep so we'll be ready for opening week!
