A Wedding, A Week on the Farm, and Mexico!

What a week we've had!  Let's start with last weekend.  On Friday Matt's parents came down to pick the boys up for their 9 day stay on the farm!  Later that afternoon I rode with Adam and Bethany to Omaha.  Matt joined us later.  We were there to celebrate the marriage of our cousin Lisa to Adam Hansen!  It was a fabulous weekend!

My cousin Brian and I!

It was so good to see all of our family!  We also met my cousin Jess' soon-to-be in laws and I cannot WAIT to see them again at her wedding!

Loved my Thomas time!
Mr. and Mrs. Hansen!!!
Sunday after the gift-opening brunch, we headed back to Kansas City to prepare for our trip to Mexico!  We were very excited to return to the same resort as our first visit!!!

Night 1 was Mexican buffet night!  My favorite!  Hola!!!
Matt was a big talker that he knew all the words to La Bamba, so when the lead singer was going around the crowd, I waved him over and Matt got to show his stuff!  Ha!

This was a dessert.  It was a chunk of pumpkin.  And it was delicious!  It tasted like apple pie!

We consumed a lot of these...

Cannolis!  YUMMY!

Matt's mousse dessert

At our favorite...the sports bar.
This tractor was on the beach!  Because of the storms and rain there was lots of seaweed on the beach so this tractor was trying to get it off of the beach!

Swinging and eating ice cream!

These poor guys...trying to get all of the seaweed cleaned up!

All of those bags of seaweed!

EWWW!

This was our view every morning at breakfast!

(Don't mind the guy's boxers showing).  I took this mainly because this guy was on the beach selling hats, and his hat was a Royals hat!  When I mentioned it, he said "Yay Royals.  Best team!"

One day at lunch buffet Matt told me to go get some of the pork because it was good.  When I opened the lid, here's what I saw.  Look close, toward the back.  EWWW!

This little "raccoon" (as the waiters told us) hung out outside the restaurant each day.  The waiter here was getting him to stand up on his hind legs.  He didn't bother, he just lingered...

Strange!

One day these little "cookies" were in our room!
Another night at the end of the bar...

Our very favorite bartender/waiter - Eduardo

Our second favorite - Guillermo

Beauty

Ahhh!

On the last morning we got up early to see the sunrise.  It was too cloudy, but I still enjoyed the quiet, gorgeous beach early in the morning!

It's turtle season there now.

This area is fenced off to protect the turtles.

This crab was under one of the beach chairs early in the morning!
While we were in Mexico, the boys were enjoying a week on the farm!  They did so much...went to the zoo, played outside, went to the Science Center, visited Aunt Marcy and Uncle Nate, got spoiled!  Let's just say they weren't completely excited to see us return....they knew it meant having to leave Grandma and Papa's house!

Checking things out

Nice, Zane!

Bryce doesn't go too far from Old Papa when he's around!

Zane found a coke with "Matthew" so got it because of his dad!
Tilling!
We are so thankful for Matt's parents and owe them so much!  They will do anything for our kids.  They drove all the way down here on Friday to get them, kept them through today, allowed them to eat them out of house and home, took them fun places, they are just the best!  We never worry one minute when they are there, and the fact that the boys are sad/mad when they have to come home proves they have so much fun and are so loved while there!  Mason just "wants to go to Grandma's on his own" and is counting down until the next time he goes!  Such great memories they will always have of their times there!  Thank you, thank you, for all you always do for us!
